William Bye Death, Obituary – William Bye has sadly passed away at age 74

William Bye Obituary, Death – William N. Bye, 74, died September 15, 2022. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident, a U.S. Army veteran, and retired from the City of Cuyahoga Falls as a foreman in 1995. He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Robert) Hotchkiss; son, Bill (Jeanine) Bye; grandchildren, Joshua Dotson, Alex Bye, and Liam Bye; brother, Robert (Nancy) Bye, and nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, 10 AM, at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg 44087. Shortly after returning to Britain in 1958 from studying in Paris, the flutist William Bennett received a phone call: “Get to the Festival Hall as quick as you can. Sir Thomas Beecham is doing Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben and is a player short. The rehearsal has already started.” This was soon followed by another call telling him to present himself in Manchester for an audition with the BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra, now the BBC Philharmonic. Five days later Bennett, who died aged 86 of motor neuron disease, was a member of that orchestra and embarking on a career as one of the leading players of his generation. Williams Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana T. Bolger; children, Cynthia Y. (Deon) Code, Martin W.
